UF term changes

Hi, I was wondering if UF does term changes. I'm thrilled to be accepted there, but I got accepted into the Spring 2011 term, and for economic and academic reasons I'd really prefer to fall, and if not fall I would be more than content with summer. Thanks for any help!

hey, the same thing happened to me and I’m devastated. I don’t know how anything works like are we allowed to take community college in the fall? If so how many classes? or what are the chances of the university changing its mind?

This happened to me also. I’m happy that I made it and I will really like to go there. But wouldn’t this affect my fafsa app? can I go to a community college for the fall? … By the way what did you guys select as your majors?

if you get moved to spring that means you were underqualified. The most qualified got into fall, less summer, less spring, less rejected. qualified in the eyes of UF atleast. my friend got rejected that wins every math competition around the state because he isnt that good at english

Second, you may do the following:

CALL the admissions office on information on how to change your term of entry.

THEN send them an email asking for it. A lot of people that were admitted for Spring last year got it changed to summer B or Fall

gpowsang

thanks gpowsang! I was thinking about writing a letter or something because I really want to go there but don’t want any complications with finishing on time. And to luisale92, I selected pharmacy as my major but plan on changing it to elementary education. They said that the major you selected had nothing to do with whether or not you get in. What was yours?

Congratulations to all who got in. We have friends whose terms did get changed to summer and fall and some who did not. They did go to a CC for Fall. Many went to Santa Fe so they could get used to G-ville. Call the office and find out what your options are. It is only one semester and it goes by very quickly!

Thanks everyone :). I was also wondering how i could go about the term change, like what a sufficient reason would be, I really want to go to UF but I have a family grant that won’t allow me to transfer so quickly, and that is what will pay for a majority of my college so do you think UF would be able to work with me and give me the fall term semester? Also, should I call or write an email, I want to do whatever is best because I am afraid lots of people will be calling tomorrow morning and the admissions will be overloaded.

WHO told you that?
I don’t think so.

^
No, from what I have read and heard that is actually true.

Those who had summer or spring from my school were usually less competitive applicants.

I hope it’s not true. I got accepted spring 2011. (in all honesty I got rejected at first, “refuted” my rejection, then got accepted for spring) I really didn’t feel like pushing my luck so I didn’t request a change of term. I am going to Santa Fe (the local cummunity college) for fall, so you CAN do that. I’m a little nervous about starting in the middle of the year, but it will be fine for all of us, I’m sure.

i got in for spring also, i requested a term change in may and they denied it because of space, so honestly if its this close to fall, you’re all stuck in spring

Huge bump. Hopefully this works out.

That is NOT true.
People who are accepted to SUMMER, are usually less qualified.
Those accepted to Spring are usually the ones that have a lot of college credits.
