UF Term Switch Requests

Hello All, I had some questions about the term requesting process.

I, like many, was accepted to Spring 2012 for UF although I applied for Summer B. I sent in an email requesting Summer the day that admissions opened again, and in all honesty, I feel like my reason was solid. I am intending to study anthropology and on their website they have a recommended semester program, saying that the first semester I should take a certain amount of anthro credits. Meaning, if I start in Spring or start at Santa Fe, I won't be as up to date as the UF kids that start on time.

So my reason has absolutely nothing to do with finances because I don't want to lie and say that my family needs my acceptance into summer because of economic hardship. From what I've read about previous years, most people request to switch to fall because the finances require them to pay for summer, which they cannot do. So my questions is this: does that mean that being considered from summer has a separate criteria than being considered for fall? Does my request seem valid? Are the only requests that get granted based on financial issues? Also I've read that many people found out about their requests in mid April or so. I hope the same goes for this year. Any valid help would be appreciated because I keep getting mixed answers from people and I hope someone on these forums can insight me. Thank you for reading!!
