UF Transfer Fall 2020 General Discussion

Hey all, figured I’d get this started since we are rapidly approaching the deadline for transfer applications. Please copy the format and discuss below.
My stats:

GPA: 3.93
CRITICAL TRACKING GPA: 4.0 (currently enrolled in managerial account, stats, and micro) have 4.0 in other 4
COLLEGE: Business
MAJOR: Information Systems
TRANSFERRING FROM: Pasco-Hernando State College
STATUS: Under review.

Does anyone know if my stats are going to get me in? I should be finishing my prereq courses with at least a 3.86 (6 A, 1 B) but I hope to finish them all with an A. Thanks!

GPA: 3.89
critical tracking GPA: 4.0
college: Liberal Arts and Sciences
major: political science
transferring from: Santa Fe College
Status: under review

Looks like I have basically same GPA as original poster but I believe business is a somewhat harder major to transfer into. Also, I have only completed 35ish credits so far but will be done with everything after summer and in time for fall classes at uf. So I had to put about 10 classes for “in progress.” I think because of this, I will be waiting longer to find out because my friend was accepted to UF for the fall yesterday but she has more credits already completed and will have her AA this spring. So those of you with the most credits should probably find out first. Either way, she found out very early.

GPA: 3.87
Critical Tracking GPA: 4.0
College: CLAS
Major: English
Transferring from: Seminole State College
Status: Under Review

From what ufstudentwannabe said, hopefully a decision will be made soon since I finish up my AA this semester. My application just changed from “Your Transfer application for admission to the English degree program at the University of Florida for the Fall 2020 term has been received” to “Your Transfer application for admission to the University of Florida for the Fall 2020 term has been received”, so I don’t know if that’s a sign if it’s getting close or not.

GPA: 3.8
Critical Tracking GPA: 3.6
College: CLAS
Major: Economics
Transferring from: Santa Fe College
Status: Under Review

I submitted everything in January. Still waiting for the decision. I got accepted by FSU last week but UF is my dream school.

Just got accepted to UF on a conditional acceptance of obtaining my AA and completing additional program requirements. I’m assuming that the additional program requirement is my last semester of a foreign language, though I’m going to follow up with admissions to make sure that’s the case since I’m not taking any classes specific to my major lol.

Either way, I got (conditionally) accepted to UF!

congrats! When did you apply? I applied December 16th as a history major in CLAS for the fall semester and i haven’t heard back yet

Congrats when did you apply ??

I applied on 1/31, but didn’t get all my documents to admissions until 2/17. Not sure if it’s specific to the English department having fewer applicants/ going through the applications faster. Getting a decision in approximately three weeks after having my documents in definitely seems on the faster side though. I know they give priority to students obtaining an AA as well, so I don’t know if that effects either of you.

Hopefully you get your decisions soon. Good luck!

@lacanyounot my status thing changed to “application received for fall 2020” instead of my intended major ! So hopefully that means I’m going to be hearing soon ! All the best !

Hey guys!
GPA : 4.0
college : liberal arts and sciences
major : psychology
transferring from FSU, getting my AA this summer
I submitted my application on 2/20, and everything was submitted by 3/15. I read that psych is one of the hardest majors to transfer into so I was wondering if anyone would know when I would hear back or if anyone else is going into pscyh and if they’ve heard.
But also congrats to those who were accepted already :,)

It’s been four month since I submitted my application back in January. I still havent got my decison back. Why CLAS took so goddamn long. Im losing it. Help me god.

@theflashfullsend I feel your pain. I’m still waiting on a decision and it’s driving me crazy. I don’t understand why it’s taking so long.

Hi guys, I am a freshman at USF who is applying as a transfer student in CLAS for Political Science to UF, so for the first semester I was stupid and I took too many classes and the Stats class which was a prereq I got a C and my overall GPA was a 2.83 but this semester I’m doing much better like the two prereqs I’m taking rn I have A in one and an A- in another and I can bring my GPA over a 3 and overall a 3.23 with my prereq GPA to a 3.4 and if I get an A over the summer in my prereq will b a 3.62 and same with my overall GPA and I’ve been volunteering and doing Poli Sci research do u think I’ll have a good chance getting in as a transfer?
Thank you in advance from a hopeful student

Just got accepted into UF today. Yeahhhhhh. Best of luck to everyone.

Hi! Anybody else applied for accounting and still waiting? Are we expecting to hear back this week like the other business majors?

@Whale1234 - Accounting normally does not release decisions until June.

@Melissa96 Thank you so much for this information!! I am currently registering for summer classes but I finished all my preprofessional courses and UF says that they do not like students taking upper-level accounting and business core courses at other universities. Do you have any insight on what kind of class is permitted? (e.g. Business communication? Risk in Business and Society?) (I am transferring from FSU and I just earned my AA degree this semester) Thank you in advance!

@Melissa96 , do you happen to know when Dance BFA transfer decisions will be released by the School of Theater + Dance?

@Whale1234 - if you are done with courses and have an AA degree already for UF, you should probably just take the summer off otherwise you’d be spending money taking classes that may not help your degree at all.

@ucsb82 - the department has already asked us to make changes so I would check in with them. Kevin Austin 352-273-0519

@Melissa96 Thank you for the reply. I will talk more with my advisor to see what is the best option. I appreciate it!
