Does anyone know when decisions for Summer 2018 will be released?
GPA: 3.01
Transferring from: USF
Major: Stats
Status: Applied in late December, my application was referring to my specific college about a week and a half ago. What are my chances and how long until I get my admission decision?
@vaultboiye Hi! You’re applying to the college of liberal arts and sciences so they should notify you in about 3-4 weeks. According to their website, you need a minimum 2.5 gpa overall to be competitive, which you have, but you also need a minimum of a B- in MAC 2312. As long as you’ve met these requirements and have the prereqs you have a good chance
Does anyone know if transferring from another 4 year university (in Florida) is very difficult? I’ve heard they prioritize kids coming from CCs…
@stressed4lifee Nice! I made a B in MAC 2312. I have heard that 4 year university students take a back seat to the CC kids though.
They prioritize students coming from other Florida colleges and universities, not necessarily just CC.
I was just accepted by the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences transferring from FSU
@vaultboiye That’s good to hear! Best of luck
@collegeswift13 Congrats! What were your stats, if you don’t mind sharing?
Thanks!!
@collegeswift13 When did you get your decision?
Was just denied for “not receiving a grade higher than a B- in calculus 3”. Do you guys think there is a chance if I reapply for a different term? It mentions no where in their admissions requirements that a B- in calc 3 is required, it only says a minimum of a B- in calc 2, which I have.
@vaultboiye it sounds like your prereq GPA went below the competitive level. Probably won’t change the outcome without a good reason. If you have a good reason, you can try appealing to the college.
@Melissa96 How do you go about appealing the college?
Could you explain how his calc 3 grade would affect this pre req gpa, if only calc 1 and calc 2 are mentioned on the statistics page?
What’d you get in pre calc, calc 1, calc 2, calc 3? Did you fail any classes? How many Cs have you gotten?
@vaultboiye What did they say when you checked your status? Here is a link that explains the appeal process: https://www.advising.ufl.edu/admissions/transfer-admissions/if-not-admitted/. Your options from here include appealing, retaking the class and applying for a future term, or applying for another major. All the best
@stressed4lifee They said my application was not competitive because I received a C+ in Calculus 3 as opposed to a B-. They have no mention of a minimum requirement for Calc 3 in the minimum requirements for a stats transfer.
@BrandonFr55 pre calc: B-, Calc 1: A-, Calc 2: B, Calc 3: C+. Haven’t failed any classes, have a couple W’s on my record though. Gotten 3 C’s excluding Calc 3.
Just appealed today, anyone know the odds of getting in from an appeal? Im sure they aren’t in my favor:(
What was your basis for appealing? Unfortunately, chances of getting in after appealing are very slim. Definitely still worth a shot though. Have you considered looking at other majors to apply to?
