I'm thinking about applying to the University of Florida, can someone chance me?

Junior Transfer
Sophomore in the school of business @ U of Miami
3.56 Cumulative transfer GPA, 3.84 UMiami GPA (two terms), 3.0 UMD(maryland) GPA
Top 15% HS graduating class, 3.7 UW/ 4.1-4.2 W. All honors and APs.
Very strong and solid essay, great extracurriculars in HS and even more so @ Miami.

What are my chances? I have till June 1 to apply?

Maximus5403, how were your stats and where are you transferring from that you got in so fast?
Does UF considered SATs, I know other schools like Cornell and UNC disregard your SAT scores and only concentrate on your college grades with little emphasis on HS grades.

I applied from Indian River State College just changed over from community college. When I talked to admissions i believe 3.7 is minimum for BA degree in Business Administration. They ddint request test scores only high school transcript for language requirement. My acceptance is contingent on receiving AA degree. I also have Phi Theta Kappa honors society. My CUM GPA is 3.86 with some honors courses.

I have Phi Theta kappa honors society-- do you know if that shows up on our transcripts?
Also, I will be receiving my AA this April and my GPA is 3.8, and coming from a private school-- how well do you think my chances for getting into the School of Education are?

PTK shows up on my transcript under awards.

Congrats Maximus!!! Thanks for sharing

Prospective Students - School of Business - Warrington College of Business Administration

Click on transfer students and you will see that the school of business admits transfers differently than the other schools. If you have an AA from a community college, a 3.0 overall and a 3.7 in your pre professional courses you are automatically admitted. My son has spoken to them and confirmed this. This is only guaranteed for students with the AA from a CC.

really ptk shows up on transcripts? lol i threw my letter away

Thanks! PTK has worked out pretty well for me. I saved $1500 on a laptop from Dell. And I got a $11,000 Scholarship to University of Miami just for PTK.

yup the warrington school of business is the only guaranteed transfer acceptance at UF.. if you have 3.0 overall and 3.7 pre-professional, completed all pre-professional courses (2 intro accounting, 2 economics, statistics, survey of calculus 1 and problem solving using computers) and AA from florida CC. however, though a part of warrington, the fisher school of accounting is harder to get into and is much more competitive. Havent heard anything from them and I applied in Jan..3.93 overall and 4.0 pre-professional.

Congratulations Maximus5403!!! What's your major at the school of business?

Thanks...Business Administration

anyone else got accepted as a transfer?

does anyone know when we should expect to hear from the college of agriculture and life sciences?

decisions haven't been made yet

Quick question for anyone who had to do the two essay questions for the letter of intent--When it says no more than two pages, does that mean two pages per essay, or both essays need to fit within two pages total?

I know this is a stupid question but what exactly is pre-professional gpa? And is the other gpa listed for high school too?? Thanks.

Good question, KSP. I hope this question gets answered.
