UF Transfer thread Fall 09

If you have all of the pre reqs completed for the other major, then maybe. But, then again, I really don't know. You should call UF about this!

Anyone hear about nursing?

Anyone have any idea how long it takes to get a decision from the College of Engineering?

I'm pretty sure you can change your major as long as the major is in your college and it has the same prereqs. So if you do decide to change it when do you think you could? Like before the first semester or after the first, etc?

I got accepted to UF as a freshman for Fall '08. I went to Emory instead and have paid $45,000 for a year of hell. I have 66 credits total so thank god I'm eligible to apply for transfer. If they don't accept me I'll probably go nuts, I would have been in their Honors Program last year with a GPA of 5.23 and ACT of 33. Now I have:

Emory: 3.33
FAU: 3.93
BCC: 3.85

And with regards to majors, I'm pretty sure you can probably do whatever you want as long as you accept that you'll have to spend extra time and money to do it.

Well, that is exactly the point js1091; they don't want you to change majors because they don't want you there any longer than necessary! They are working very hard at getting people to graduate within 4 years so they are pretty strict about changing majors.

as far as clas is concerned... you're given 2 years to complete you're degree and changing majors is not allowed.

....but you can always double major.

Q? Uh did any fall decisions for transfers come out? My friend who also goes to FSU told me he got in yesterday..... for fall 2009, and Im not sure if hes lying or not but he tells me he did.

probably your friend posted here at cc.....hmmmmm.

It all depends what college your friend applied to.

mine changed from it basically saying they were checking my eligibility and uf gpa to what it says now, that my app. has been transfered to college of interest for final eval

i've looked at several off campus places, and have several choices. you can have a gainesville apartment guide booh sent to you from the uf off campus housing section of the web page. in that book it shows which places are all inclusive , as far as utilities are concerned, as well as fully furnished. Most are 4br 4 ba dorm style apartments next to bus routes to take you to campus ranging from $400 to $800 dollars a month depending on what your budget may be.

according to the college of liberal arts and sciences you are expected to finish your BA in the major you applied and get accepted for , if you want to change you need to talk to admin. and most likely will have to reapply the following semester for that new major

other colleges aren't getting as many applications as UF. USF has accepted several of my friends for fall already, and there deadline for applications for the fall is july 1st. I'm going to apply to Usf as a back up, just in case

yep i applied to ucf just in case as well, was admitted..they have rolling so it was within 1 week of completing app.

updates anyone......

I have been in contact with my college and they have updated me. No acceptance/rejection yet though. I met the criteria so I was asked to send in a personal goals statement and the admissions committee is suppose to contact me.

Any other updates? anyone hear when they will let transfers know?

honestly,

based on emails and decision time last year...

CLAS decisions won't be available until mid april the earliest... but i fully expect a decision by the end of april.

Has anyone talked to CALS, is it still april?
