UF Transfer Thread-Spring 2010

That’s true… Online is a convenience, even though they say that’s where they update first, lol. I hope you’re right! I’m in Cali, haha! So that’ll probably take a few days longer for me to get. I am getting worried, I went ahead and registered for classes at FSU since they’ve already started registering there. Here’s to wishing! Nothing yet today… Good luck, TalkUF2me!! :)

anybody else had to wait a couple days before they could sign up for the transfer preview?

nevermind, just signed up. UF said there was a glitch in their system preventing people form signing up.

i have been accepted!!! found out at 11:45 pm tonight (uf’s time too)

congrats TALKUF2me…get on that immunization asap!

AAAH!!! CURSES UF, CURSES!!! shakes fist

if you cant tell, still nothing yet :(…but congrats TalkUF2me.
Thank goodness I found out Transfers dont have to pay enrollment fees at FSU so Im able to hold out just a little bit longer…but its tough.

immunization??? can i find out that stuff online because i am still waiting on the package from the mail. I dont know what I have to do now. I know i have to register for a date or something but what else am i suppoed to so. Will someone direct me to a web address or something that outlines this.

congrats! everyone is finding out except me! gah.

for real though, awesome that you got in!

If you go to preview.ufl.edu and look at the Transfer Brochure, it should have a checklist with a link to th Immunization form. You can also sign up for Preview on that website. If you go to the Admissions site where you check your application status and click on Admitted Students, I think you can find the checklist and immunization sheet there too.

TalkUF2me!!! Congrats!!! So glad to hear you made it.
Nothing. Still. I’ve been waiting since April. :/

should confirm that they receive all immunization stuff, when i arrived at my preview…something happened and i could not register

i called admission today to check my status (even though i knew the answer) and i ended up asking them if the business college had an absolute deadline for notification. the women i spoke with said they did not. can anyone verify where this “november 15th” deadline was found?

Stevie… I called and they told me November 15. Three different people have told me. And there really does have to be some kind of deadline, lol, we can’t be waiting for life.
Nothingggggggggg…

Has anyone heard back from College of Journaliam and Communications for transfering in spring 2010?

Make sure you guys get in that immunization stuff and congrats!!! It has to be in 15 days before orientation (or you can’t register for classes).

Congrats TalkUF2Me!!! That’s awesome :)

Soon2bGator, I have. I saw my acceptance on Halloween night. Not sure when it was changed but I know it wasn’t that at 4:30pm on last Friday.

thanks everyone. And that nov. 15 i think is the college of ag and life sciences deadline. I am not sure it is for all of UF. Thanks for the website and all the info. I got to get me butt in gear!!!

I made a thread about this but no one wants to reply :(…so I guess I’ll just post it in here since this is the official transfer thread, please help me!!!

I’m currently a sophomore at Valencia Community College in Orlando who desperately wants to transfer to UF to major in Materials Science & Engineering. My cumulative GPA right now is a 3.66 and I’m in the Honors Program.

1) How bad do withdrawals look on my transcript? I have one WP (withdrawal passing) from my first semester last fall…I’m sure it won’t affect me that bad but I’m really worried about a 6 credit Interdiscplinary Studies Honors class that I’m taking right now…I screwed up the first few weeks and now I’m going to have to work really hard just to make a B in the class. I’ve only gotten 3 Bs since I started at Valencia…if I get a B in this class my GPA will drop to a 3.6, even if I make As in all of my other classes (Calc II, Chem I Honors, and Speech Honors)…but if I withdraw from the class (and end up with a 2nd “W” on my transcript) and get As in my other three classes I’ll be able to raise my GPA from a 3.66 to a 3.74. Should I withdraw from this class or should I not risk it and just take the B and drop my GPA?

2) I plan on sending in my application early January (the deadline for Fall 2010 is March 1st)…but the problem is that I will not completely finish all of my prerequisites until the end of Summer 2010. Next semester the prerequisites I’ll be taking are Calc III and Physics I so I won’t be able to take my final prerequisites (Differential Equations and Physics II) until the summer semester. Is this going to affect my application and my chances of getting in? How exactly does the process work when you send in an application while still finishing up your prereqs?

3) How much extracurricular should I have on my transcript? Right now the only thing I’m involved with is the Phi Theta Kappa honor society…should I join more clubs/associations like SGA and maybe try to get some volunteering done before I apply in January?

I really really really want to be a part of the Gator Nation…I’ve been praying ever since I started at Valencia that I’ll get in to UF, it’s my dream right now. Do I really have a chance at getting in? Everyone I’ve talked to in my honors classes who are applying to UF all have 3.8-3.9 GPAs and are doing alot of extracurricular activities…it makes me really worried that I won’t get in :(

WOOHOO!!! I checked this morning and i got ACCEPTED!!! YIPPEEE

does a rave dance it about time!

Congrats, Spidey!

Has anyone who has been accepted but not yet turned in the immunization form have an immunization hold on their record on ISIS? I faxed in my form last Friday, and I don’t have a hold on my record, but I never saw one on there before I submitted. I tried to call to verify that the Health center received and approved my form so I can register next week, but they just told me to look at ISIS…

I just want to make sure I’ll be able to register at Preview!
