UF Transfer Thread-Spring 2010

lol, if nething u should get the official mail sometime next week, but congrats. Still waiting here and everytime the status check is unavailable the stress builds up even more.

Hey guys! I’ve been keeping up with this thread since sending out my application in late august. I’ve still yet to hear from UF, although the Warrington Business College has my application (i’m a marketing major). I’ve been going insane waiting to hear. I’ve already been accepted to USF and FSU, but I’m only considering those schools as back-ups. I’ll have the final 15 credits for my AA completed at the end of this semester.

A question to fellow transfer students is this. Is the application process any different between colleges within the university? I notice most of the posters in this thread are political science majors, but i can’t imagine the process being any different. Any advice on how to distract myself and keep me sane? I’ve been checking four to five times a day and its killing me!

Thanks!
Steven

Honestly Stevie, all I can say is don’t check as much or worry about it. Once I did that it didn’t bother me. I checked once a week for the last month and that was it. Once I got over checking everyday, it wasn’t as stressful. Good luck! Are most of us Poli. Sci.? lol. I never realized that, maybe it is because I posted so much? lol.

Lol, maybe that’s it. I’ve seen other threads with a majority of posters asking about their chances for poli. sci. with X.XX gpa and XX credits. maybe that’s why.

Anyway, i’m going to try and go all of tomorrow without checking. (lets see how long that will last lol)

so i receive an e-mail from the head of admissions at the business college. apparently she is out of office from the 28th of september to the 13th of october. wow.

i guess it’s safe to assume that the process doesn’t even begin until that date. gah.

I’m really hoping to get a decision tonight or tomorrow because I have to put down $250 to keep my housing priority for FSU, and I’d rather not do that only to get into UF the next day. Don’t have much hope for that though lol.

Ouch, that’s rough. To which college did you apply?

CLAS for English. you?

CLAS for Linguistics.

I also applied to CLAS for English, but FSU just recently started a new program in their English department that seems to be right up my alley; nonetheless, I shall wait a few more days for a reply from UF. I think I might just end up going to FSU though, even if I get accepted to UF.

Henry, is it the Editing, Writing, and Media program at FSU? That’s the one I applied/was accepted to. It seems like UF’s Advanced Writing option is a pretty similar program, so I’d be happy with either one.

I’m having trouble activating my FSUid. Is anyone having trouble too? Does it take a bit to register you as a student?

Im getting worried. I’ve applied since July and still no admission decision yet. Is this a bad sign?

it really has nothing to due with what date you applied. It all depends on the colleges decesion dates. For instance, as far as CLAS (which I applied to), basically it’s from mid-September to mid-October.

^My deadline was Sept 15…so hopefully I will get something this month.

However a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders because I just check status at FSU and was accepted! yay…so at least I know I will be going somewhere after the end of this semester, lol.

which college you part of? And also i think you got the date confused for APPLICATION deadline…like when you’re suppose to have our application in by…that has nothing to due with when they start rolling out decisions… i think you were reffering to these dates on this list [University of Florida - Admissions](Transfer Dates & Deadlines - University of Florida) …but yea, congrats with FSU. I might end up going there if UF doesn’t take me for Spring.

I got in!!! CLAS for English.

Congratulations! I hope I find out soon.

Congrats!!! See you next semester at UF! :)

"Congratulations!!! Your application to the University of Florida for the Spring 2010 term has been approved!

Official notification will arrive by mail, including the conditions of your admission as well as important orientation and immunization information.

We look forward to seeing you on campus soon, and welcome you to the Gator Nation!"

So I got into both schools I applied to, very motivating it is!

To hahathatsfunny: Yes, that’s the program at FSU that I applied to.
