UF transfers fall 17 / spring 2018

I liked past discussions where people post their cumulative GPA’s and Pre Prof GPA’s before applying into UF so here 's one for Fall 2017 and Spring 2018. I’m going for Spring myself

GPA
Pre Prof: 3.5
Overall: 2.8

Major: Chemical Engineering

overall gpa is low, but from poor grades from 8-10 years ago. Last 3 years my grades have been mostly A’s with some B’s. I did talk to advisors and they said if I went for a less competitive major (not MAE) and explained myself in the statement of intent I will have a chance.

I’m 31 and hoping to get an engineering degree from UF after a botched attempt at another school with Poli Sci 5 years ago. I’m applying to the other state schools, and possibly UM (expensive), but UF is #1 choice.

Have 4 classes left for my critical tracking so my Pre Prof could get up to 3.7 if I hit A’s in the last 4 courses.

Good luck everyone

Hoping to transfer for the fall of 2017

GPA
Pre-Prof: 3.47
Overall: 3.59

Major: Finance

Out of state (New York)

hey guys! can someone chance me? i have a 3.65 GPA OOS and im trying to get admitted to CLAS for a Political Science degree! the only thing that i feel could really hurt me is that I was not really involved in in clubs/ECs for my first two years (only 2) because of my anxiety/stress that came up in the semester. plus I couldnt afford it. Will this come back to seriously bite me in the butt? thanks guys!

@foreverago Clubs/Activities are not looked at for decisions for CLAS. They are looking for what classes you took and how you did in them.

@foreverago you will not have any issues gaining admission into Political Science.
@Dccbaby gaining admission will be tough as a transfer student… good luck!
