Uf/ucf

What made you pick UF over UCF or UCF over UF? I'm looking at them right now and it seems like they both have really good things about them, but it's sk hard to choose! I'm interested to hear people's opinions about why one is better than the other or why one was a better fit for them.
P.s. I'm looking into pre-pt / pre-ot, health sciences major.

I chose UF because it has prestige, every faculty member/professor is amazing, the main campus is beautiful and robust, school pride is strong, and opportunities/resources are overwhelming. Just being a basic UF student is AMAZING. Students in a program like Honors or Innovation Academy, or those that have jobs/work with university departments have EVEN MORE at their disposal in addition to all of the other awesome stuff UF has.

That’s not to say UCF doesn’t have any of these. UCF does have prestige but not to the level of UF. They have many amazing faculty members/professors as well. Their engineering is amazing (however UF’s is stronger from my research and understanding, which is another reason why I picked UF) and they have some pretty solid school pride. UCF is, from what I hear, a commuter school. While it is true that UF housing on-campus in the Fall or Spring can be “nightmarish” in trying to room with people you want to room with let alone rooming in the place you want or at all…at the very least, you have the chance to be roomed on-campus for all 4 years (but a lot of students leave after the first year or two to live off campus). At UCF, you HAVE to move off campus after 2 years or something like that. At least from what I know. But hey, I have a friend who goes to John Hopkins and he said it’s the same deal there. 2 years and you gotta live off campus. But given UCF’s high number of students, it is commuter-like in a sense. I should also mention that UCF has some sweet programs too, like the EXCEL and their own Honors college.

It’s all preference in the end, both schools are really good and have great opportunities. I would definately pick UF though. Being a gator really is something special. It’s so crazy how competetive it’s gotten though now. It’s to the point where people who should’ve, could’ve, and probably would’ve been accepted are rejected because of space issues and just how holistic admissions has to be. Even those few who are rejected because they aren’t “eligible” for admission…they would’ve EASILY been eligible 4 years back and more so 5+ years back. From my knowledge, admissions to UF is also partial lottery.
