Hello everyone. My prospective universities right now are UF and possibly FSU. I've always been interested in UF but I know that I need more than 1 option.

Academically and generally speaking which school is "better"?

im a senior in high school and ive really been debating this question. FSU is right their in talhassese so its good if u want to get into the whole political scene, while their international relations and business program is top notch. But Uf seems to be more up their academically and seems to be a more laid back schoolcompared to FSUs party scene (not to say that UF doesnt have its own share of huge parties) i guess i eneded up deciding on UF due to campus life, academics, and the large amount of study abroad programs they have. I hope this helps :)

What do you plan on majoring?
They are both huge state schools and offer a lot. If you look at statistics UF is overall #1in state. I chose UF because I was not sure exactly what I want to major in except it will be something related to science and perhaps engineering. UF offers best variety of strong majors. My friend went to FSU due to he knew he wants to major in music and that`s one thing FSU is better in his opinion.

Thanks for the replies! I actually just visited UF, FSU, UCF, STETSON. So now I know that I would not like to attend FSU, it’s just not my ideal atmosphere. I really didn’t like the ambiance at all. As for UF, it has always been my number 1 choice, but after actually seeing it, I’m not sure. The thing that disappointed me the most was the fact that the univ is surrounded by main streets. It seems like a headache to get anywhere with cars all around 24/7. I like an univ that’s close together and private in a sense of atmosphere. I actually really liked UCF, and it seems like the best choice for me. I know it’s not as “prestigious” as UF, but I’m planning on attending the Honors College (Hopefully.) and the univ was so beautiful. I saw several professors walking around and some even said hello to students. That says a lot. Overall, It seems like the best choice for my personality. I plan in majoring in Biology (or something close) since I want to be an optometrist. As far as Stetson, really nice campus, but too expensive.
