Congrats! Both are excellent options. Business is, as you know, not the focus at Tech. At UGA, Terry is the crown jewel. The vibe at each is different as a result. See which vibe you prefer. No bad/wrong choice here.
You arenât wrong, but Tech has also been focusing on their business school in recent years! This is seen through their climbing in rankings as well (Poets and Quants ranked them #10 in undergrad business rankings, 4th public I believe). Theyâve been investing in their business school a lot now.
Tech has a great business school but that rating is skewed because a lot of schools didnât participate this year.
They are different though. Tech requires you to take a computer science class for example, and itâs business school has a more tech y focus. If you havenât placed out of calculus or your lab sciences, you will have to take calculus and two lab sciences at Tech. There are no easy math or science classes at Georgia Tech. I kind of see their business school as business school for the STEM kid.
As far as job placement, you will have equal opportunity both places from what I have seen from kids who go to both schools. They are in two different environments - one in a major metropolitan city, the other in a great college town with big-time sports. Terry has 6000 students (and many more alumni) than Scheller which has around 1200.
Good point about the business school being the crown jewel at UGA - and the resources and facilities show it.
Getting into both is no small feat! Their undergraduate business ranking is the same roughly. It comes down to where do you want to spend 4 years.
Declined my UGA acceptance, my parents did not want to pay the deposit. not complaining tho, Scheller is a fantastic business school as well.
