Uga early admission

Hoping to get accepted into UGA early, but not sure if my academic stats are "good enough." I think this will be easier to chance since it does not take into consideration extracurricular activities (which I am somewhat lacking in anyway.)

I am an African American female, residing in GA

Total of 6 AP's and 5 Honors classes, and 1 dual enrollment (college course)

3.6 GPA unweighted (I am aware that UGA does their own weighted GPA)

Currently have a 1690 SAT overall (terrible, I know) I am retaking in October and hoping to get at least a 1900 overall

Also taking the ACT in September and hoping to get around a 29 or 30

My major dilemma is if I should wait and apply regular to get my GPA up... the only thing is that if I apply regular I am not sure if my extracurriculars will be enough to get me accepted.

You certainly won’t get in early.

[Advice about the UGA Admission Process: A First Look at 2013 Admitted Freshmen Credentials](<data:blog.pageTitle/>)

Always aim higher than last year’s averages. UGA has been getting more selective by the year in terms of applicants, GPA, SAT score and course rigor.

You have taken 6 AP classes, that’s the average.
You have a 3.6 average GPA, UGA’s median is 3.77 - 4.05.

We don’t have your test scores in yet, but this class had an average of 1200 - 1370.

I’d recommend you apply RD, using the fall to prep for and retake the SAT.
