I attempted to recalculate my gpa based on the way the UGA does, And I was really discouraged to find that my 3.7 hs gpa became a 2.7 on their scale. I'm not sure if I did something wrong, or if this is a normal thing. My high school grades by semester so for each of my classes I had two grades, if that makes sense. I do have a few c's but they're all in my freshman year, which i would explain the reason behind in my application, but I'm worried that even with explanation I wont be able to get past that horrible 2.7.

Are the C’s in core subjects? Keep in mind that 4 -A’s and 1-C= 3.60. So for every c you need 4 A’s to recover.

Are you calculating using the 4 core subjects (LA, math, SS, science) + world language?

The conversation does not appear to make sense. It would help us all if you briefly describe the two calculations … does the UGA calculation drop courses, not give you a boost for honors/AP that your high school does, etc? What is driving the big drop?
