Uga to Tech

<p>Hello,
I plan on transferring to tech my sophomore year. Engineering here as you know is undeveloped, and that is my passion. I've been carefully selecting my classes, taking calculus2, differential equ, physics1, english2, engr economics. One of my worries is that I maybe focusing on math/sci too much. However I want to continue to take higher level math, linear algebra and others. Would a more well rounded schedule be appropriate? Such as a language class (latin) and history.
My second question is, as a freshman wanting to transfer next fall, does Tech only look at this fall's GPA in determining acceptance, because the application is due prior to completion of spring semester. Along those lines, 2012 was a tough year, 200 more freshman than previous years, as well as the transfer waitlist. The average gpa of transfer 2012 was 3.5, would a 3.7 be considered safe for an in-state asian guy.</p>

<p>My final question pertains to Uga. For some majors, Chem 1211 is required to transfer. However at the bottom of this pdf, <a href="http://admission.gatech.edu/images/pdf/B12C2056_CourseRequirementsChart_20110818.pdf%5B/url%5D"&gt;http://admission.gatech.edu/images/pdf/B12C2056_CourseRequirementsChart_20110818.pdf&lt;/a> it states that Chem 1211 must be a 4 credithr transferable course. On the UGA to Tech transfer equivalancy, Chem 1211 does not transfer. Why? Georgia state and other schools have a transferable Chem, but why just Uga? is this some error? Does this imply that I cannot choose the majors that require Chem?</p>

<p>You cannot possibly focus on math/sci too much. Taking Latin would not do anything for you in terms of admissions. The absolute most important thing is to make sure as many of your lower level math and science classes are out of the way as possible, so that you minimize the amount of them you have to take at Tech and can jump right into your major.</p>
