@BushidoFan,

First off, I am not well informed enough to tell you otherwise about UG, besides the fact that TOSU is higher ranked academically based on various metrics. Moreover, it is widely perceived that Ohio State is currently on the rise academically, and has been giving out generous scholarships to OOS state in order to attract the top students and diversify its student population.

Furthermore, College of Biological Science at TOSU is lumped together with OSU Wexner Medical Center and BME research which are all located in the southwest corner of the campus. That area is also currently undergoing $1.5 billion construction (including a $1.1 billion new medical center) which also contains School of Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Optometry & Allied Health. Therefore, I believe, among all three of your school choices, Ohio State should offer you better training as a Pre-med in terms of access, and chances for Med School (as I recall that PSU’s med school is not located at the University Park main campus). Also know that there are quite a few medical schools in the state of Ohio, including a Osteopathic and Podiatry school that are always welcoming tOSU grads.

Secondly, UG is located in Athen, GA (roughly 2 hours drive away from Atlanta). A great college town, similar to University Park, PA of PSU; whereas TOSU is located in a urban environment, 2 miles away from the city of Columbus. The campus vibe is very different. Columbus is always high energy, and offers endless arts and entertainments around its nearby University neighborhoods. The city also offers abundant night life and over 1,000 student organized clubs and countless activities. In short, although TOSU also possess a wonderful traditional campus, the surrounding neighborhoods are very different:

Last but not least, if you are a true Bushido fan, you should know that there are two Honda plants nearby tOSU campus with a good portion of native Japanese around. In fact, there is an excellent Japanese shopping center located a few miles nearby the school, which consisted of bookstore, restaurants and karaoke bars all around. Also, I participated in the Judo Club when I was a student at tOSU. And as the former President of a number of Asian student organizations, I attest that Japanese culture is well alive in Columbus! Best of Luck to you! :)

*Note that Columbus & University Park both have four seasons compared to Georgia which is warm all year round!
