Ok what the hell...so apparently the professor that runs UGBA 10 did not let my classmate into the lecture hall to take her midterm because she was late. What the hell? We are grad students, we do not need this! True story?

Not surprising at all… When I took it, this person had his computer plugged into the wall and then Robinson made him leave the class.

Another time, during a test, one guy had a question about the format of the test during the test but Robinson just got infuriated and told him to hush and stop trying to cheat.

This class has nothing to do with business; mostly everything but the accounting module is pure common sense. It’s a class to test if you can deal with the ******** of being a business student - how coincidental that they find a ******** of a professor such as Robinson.

No one taking UGBA 10 is a grad student; they are undergraduates.

That’s why I wanted to check in with you all…smells fishy?

Then again, i think my friend has a legitimate reason to take ugba 10: she studies higher education here and specializes in undergraduate courses with large lecture sizes.

Oliver aren’t you a grad student? You said in your OP that “we are grad students…”

Haha, yeah I am a grad student, so I do not know what goes on in the undergraduate world. That is why I found my friend’s story to be kinda fishy. Undergraduate professors acting like dicks? One strange school.

Yep, I’ve had Robinson for 3 classes and 2 discussions. He’s much less of an a-hole in smaller classes (unless he’s in a bad mood). In UGBA10, he can be a major dick. He’s known for that. I guess it’s more an act because I’ve never had any professor behave like him. Well, it helps to build the Haas undergrad prestige if you think about what we have to suffer through and weeds out undergrads who aren’t fit for the major.

I feel like at times he can be a major jerk. However, he’s more than willing to help you in a small settings (i.e. office hour). I’m guessing he’s just really strict about people being punctual on exam day. This isn’t THAT uncommon… at least in my experience.

$%# no…

He’s a *SS ALL THE TIME. I had him for UGBA 10 and UGBA 106. WORST classes ever! He’s just a #$%#$% professor who plays favorites.

Business would be much better off without him. Haas courses aren’t all ALL what UGBA 10 is like. The professors are much nicer and actually CARE about you.

And it’s not just an Act… he is an AS*HOLE! During OH, I wait for 2 hours to talk to him for 5 min and he treats me like DIRT… @#$%@$%@#

Lemme guess, you’re not Asian or a male.

I’ve heard that, but why would Robinson like Asian males out of any other demographic?

I was wondering that as well. I think one of his research interests (or maybe just interests, as it did come up in lecture several times) has to do with advanced computer systems in Chinese factories?

I got to class early once and he came up to me and started the conversation. I was intimidated but he turned out to be an okay guy. He’s alright as long as you don’t break his rules.

Also, he is nothing like the average business professor.

So asian guys and Manbearpigs huh?

What about cockhorses?

I’m neither Asian nor male =__=

Which would explain a lot of his attitude towards me :S

He IS nicer to asian males :S

lol really? Is that true?

I’d say it’s true… just from personal experience.

I think 2 people can ask the same question. And depending on who you are, get treated completely differently.

You can’t fault the guy for practicing good quan xi.
