I'm signed up for both UGBA 10 with Prof. Robinson and Econ 1 with Prof. Olney. I hear Econ 1 is intensive. How much harder would it be to take UGBA 10 at the same time?

Both have tough curves. UGBA10 doesn't require too much time but enough memorization to score well on the tests. Having taken this class last semester, I found myself spending some time either writing the 2-pg essays or studying a few days before the tests. Econ 1 is more about application, and even if you study your notes and textbook well, you have to be able to apply the concepts to tests which I found were graded in a nit-picky way. If your 2/3 other classes are light, I think it'd be okay to manage the 2 classes, but I don't know you as a student so you have to assess the classes for yourself. Check out ratemyprofessor.com for more feedback about the classes.

I took Econ 1 with Professor Train, he was an amazing lecturer. I can't be too sure about Olney, but if it helps a lot of the material that's covered in Econ 1 is also covered in UGBA (and vice versa) so you don't have to worry to much about it. One subject covered in one of those two courses can be useful for both courses and such, so it's not too bad. Plus usually the professors use most and test students based mostly on lectures and lecture slides.

I see that this is in 2007 but if you did take both, how did it go? I am enrolled in both this fall.
