ugghhh chance me....

yeah sorry if this isn't the appropriate place to post this. just gonna give a general and short description.
GPA. UC:4.1/High school Overall GPA: 4.03/ Unweighted GPA: 3.78
SAT & ACT took once, didn't study :( 1550 SAT/27 ACT
Not much else for extracurricular.... lazy guy.

So based solely on this do I stand a shot of getting in? Counselor told me I'm not competitive, but I heard someone got in with a 3.0!

p.s. By the end of this school year I will have taken 8 AP classes/ 6 Honors pretty much most of them.

your good for most UCs they don’t really care about ECs

If you have better test scores, I’m sure you can go to other schools. Well, your ACT is at least decent. If you don’t send your SAT score, and only send your ACT score… you have a chance at “better” colleges. Actually, I take that back… you have no extra curricular activities… ): I don’t know… I still think you have a chance elsewhere though.

As for UCR, I think you’re in.

You definitely have a good chance at UC Riverside. And a chance at UCSB, UCM, and UCSC. Unfortunately, since you lack ECs-especially volunteer hours-and your SAT score is somewhat mediocre, you will not be as competitive for the higher tier UCs.

You still have time to take the SAT again.

You’ll def be able to get into one of the UC’s

Your GPA and ACT seem good enough for UCR and possibly other UCs. I myself didn’t have much in the way of extracurriculars, but just do your best to participate in the next few months and stretch it all out to make it look like more. Write a couple solid essays and your chances of acceptance are pretty good.

I had a 3.8 and a 32 ACT, with minimal extracurricular activities and got into Riverside, Irvine, Davis. I’d retake your SAT and ACT one more time each and actually study, you’ll do much better. What about your SAT 2s? I’d say it also depends on your major as well.

For the 2010-2011 school year entering freshmen do not need to take the SAT 2’s. However, they are considered in the application.

[University of California Admissions](http://www.universityofcalifornia.edu/admissions/undergrad_adm/paths_to_adm/freshman/examination_reqs.html)

Well that’s fantastic. Nice to know my test scores mattered that much -_-

Edit: wait doesn’t it say no SAT 2’s are required for 2012 and beyond?

Actually it does, my bad.

You look… marvelous. There’s nothing to say. UCR accepts people who don’t even apply. I’m not even kidding right now. Consider that (consider attends?)…ponder that for a minute.

Some might say that we should never ponder…some might say.

-Noel G.

At the same time, i’ve seen people get rejected, lol

You have great chance for exceptance into the university. At least for riverside because they don’t have anymore people to go to that school. But, with a 4.1 UC GPA, you could be looking at some top tier flagship UCs USC or LMU. However, for exceptence into those prestiguos schools you may need to boost your ACT a couple hundred points, just so you can stay competative in the process. You’re lack of ECs will hurt you but you can always run cross country or something at the last minute and put that you’ve been on it since freshman year because that shows dedication right there…
Good luck in all your endeavors!!! ! !!! ! !!

^Yes, but what are his chances for acceptance?

95-100% i’d say lol.
