ugh....444

wow, am i stupid for feeling so *ed off for getting three 4s? it seems like i can never just break that 5 barrier
US History-4! i got a 740 on the SAT II, wow im *ed off
Eng-4
Gov-took online, 4
chem-i hate chemistry, 2

does anyone know how much weight colleges like cornell umich and uva put into ap scores? and should i send this crappy bunch? ugh, frustration

Check each college's site. Some just use AP scores for placement.

A 4 is not bad by any means. Nobody, not even Harvard, will look down on it.

You should be a little worried about that 2 though.

Um, I hope you know you choose which scores you want to send and like I've said a lot on CC, a 4 is NOT bad!!!

yah man i know i know...its just INCREDIBLY frustrating when you were one point away from getting an Ap Scolar with Distinction award and instead you got stuck with the honors one...it just makes me so ****ed off at myself...how much do top colleges weigh Ap exams btw?

... it's really not that bad. OH NO, only an AP scholar with HONOR award? The shame!

yah i know i sound retarted...just kinda sucks, u know, 1 point away

cJ1212, you wouldn't have qualified for AP Scholar with Distinction anyway. You need to score a 3 or better on at least five AP exams to qualify for that.

Also, you need to have a score of 3 or higher on at least four AP exams to qualify for AP Scholar with Honor, with an overall average of 3.25 or higher.

It doesn't matter if you don't qualify for either award - from what my friends who are in college now have told me, they felt that the awards made little, if any difference to their acceptances/rejections.

I wouldn't call three 4's a "crappy bunch" of AP scores, especially if you weren't in a classroom for Gov't.

Three 4's?

Looks like it's community college for you bucko!

i had a 3 on bio and a 3 on world last year

WOW, I GOT THE SAME THING!

okay...in different subjects except US

which made me mad too because I got a 730 on the SAT II.

I actually cancelled my Chemistry score b/c I probably would have gotten a 1 or 2 if I left it.

Anyways, if it makes you feel better, I looked at lot of colleges and I think for the ones you got a four on (and the ones I got a four on), you get the same level of credit if you got a five on it, so I doubt colleges look down on them.

Don't panic. You're fine. If you look on the AP scores thread, you would notice in midst of the tons of fives, there are people with much lower grades.

[though I understand your fustration completely...]

yah, i just checkd cornell's, umich and uva websites and they all accept 4s, but still, i hate it

"Just 1 point away" doesn't mean much on a test with only five possible scores. You were also just 1 point away from a 3, and 2 points away from a 2.

That said, a 4 is good. Nothing to be frustrated about.

yah, would you suggest not submitting the 2?

You don't have to submit anything. It may look like you're hiding something to the college, but you do not have to tell them until after you are accepted and enrolled. They will then get your score report.

Yeah, AP's don't matter that much for admissions. If they accept 4's , go ahead and send all of them when you go there (I'm pretty sure you can only send all or nothing). They can't do anything about the 2 then.

I kinda know what you mean, I've gotten 4's on every test I've taken, and I kinda wanted to "go the distance" and get a 5. But I just got my scores and I got my 1st 5 - Stats! 6 4s and finally a 5. Keep working at it, you'll get there.
