Ugh. Better applicants from same school

I know it's kinda pointless asking questions about admissions since decisions come back in a week, but this issue has been on my head for a while and I'm wondering about big of a problem it is for my chances of getting into UCLA (my top choice school). Basically, two of my friends who already got into HYPSM used UCLA as a safety. They have pretty much perfect stats (4.0/2350+), while mine are mediocre at best (3.3 UW 3.7 UC W 1510/2250 SAT). One of them already got a scholarship offer and I'm pretty sure the other will get in. Will the fact that there are far better applicants from my school pretty much kill my chances?

I don’t think they care about the school but rather yourself.

I remembered the UCLA admission officer who came to my school during September did say that they do compare you to applicants in your school due to context review.

What Labyrinthus said is true. It’s very depressing, I know. They don’t want to compare you to applicants who had better and/or more opportunities than you did, so they compare you to people in your school to make it “fair.”

Then I’m lucky I’m the better one of the two UCLA applicants from my school.
