I personally hate gift-giving and gift shopping for friends. But they are like "I bought your gift last night..." or "I made you something for your christmas gift." So, I feel like I have to give something in return

what are some simple, yet decent gifts for friends?

Most of it is minty, which makes your lips tingle and it tastes really good. :) At the store I went to today, they were on sale for $3. It made my day!

I adore that mentha lip tint stuff. The good thing is that unlike a lot of lip glosses, it doesn't dry out your lips.

Anyway, if you like to bake, you could just make a whole batch of cookies/brownies/cupcakes and decorate them with cute patterns and frosting. That way, you don't have to spend too much money. And pretty much everyone likes baked goods.

If they have iPods, iTunes giftcards work too. If someone gave me one for even $5 (no idea if you can even go that low) I'd be happy because I like to pick out random tracks rather than download entire albums.

If you have a dollar store near you, you could pick up a ton of cheap, amusing trinkets and give a couple to each person. This depends on the type of person you are. Sometimes it might backfire and make you look cheap.

This sounds stupid, but write poems for people. Actually, I'd be incredibly touched/amused if someone wrote me a little poem about myself for a present.

I mean, I had a lot of trouble buying gifts for friends during the holiday season (by the way, have you considered setting up a Secret Santa exchange with your friends instead of everyone buying presents for everyone else?), but it honestly is the spirit of it that's important. I'm just full of cheesiness tonight, but I like it when people think of me, even if it's just a card thanking me for my friendship or whatever.

At the beginning of freshman year, a bunch of my close friends and I made an agreement that we would not buy each other gifts to avoid any awkwardness and obligation to get something for someone else like the situation you have now. This means no Christmas or Birthday gifts, unless someone has a party. There are common things that we'd do in return though, such as bringing baked goods for everyone...so it really isn't a selfish friendship lol.

Gag gifts are always fun though depending on how well your friends can take a joke. Cheesy handmade ones are even better. If you're really stuck, just go for the generic giftcard route with a hilarious card.

Usually I get the same thing for eight or so of my closest friends: something cute and/or funny. Last year it was devil rubber ducks. I think the year before it was Slinkys.
