I seriously do not understand...like...anything about this. My parents are no help, because I'm the first kid. I know this is past deadline, but there was some trouble with the application.

I just received my Student Aid Report in the mail. I am not sure what this signifies. On the FAFSA site, it only allowed me to send the information to six schools. It said to copy the SAR for the remaining schools I needed. I am just not sure if the SAR is complete. There is also a signature page for me and my parents. Do I need to sign this or is it only for changes?

Also, it gives me some sort of code for my EFC...what does this even mean?

...ew, I hate financial aid....

When you file the FAFSA online you need to have two PIN numbers to sign it...one for you and one for your parents. If you didn't have those you need to hand sign and send them back or apply online for those PINS and then sign the FAFSA and resubmit. I'm not sure what you mean by some "code" for your EFC. Most schools will NOT accept photocopied SARs for the FAFSA. If you have more than six schools you need to submit for those six schools...wait until that submission is processed (about 3-5 days usually) then go into the FAFSA site and delete schools so you can add the remaining schools and submit again. BUT you need that PIN number to do this.

Babybird: as to the EFC code: in the upper right corner of the SAR, if after the letters EFC, it says for example EFC: 00000, your EFC is 0. If it says EFC is 04500, your EFC is 4500.

i already handsigned. do I still need the PINs?

the FAFSA site itself says to just copy the SARs for the other schools. It's already late as it is, do you really think they won't accept it if I just photocopy the SAR?

Babybird....call the schools to see what they will accept. If they will accept a photocopy of the SAR you are fine. BUT I do not think too many schools will do that. However I'm not a finaid expert so call the schools' finaid offices and ask.
