I saw on the news of how there is a new push for Recreational Marijuana to be legalized on the federal level (for people 21+) but obviously this would skyrocket HS Marijuana use

We are already going to have a medical marijuana center in town (where it will be easy to get it) so is anyone else scared?

I heard that medical marijuana would have watered-down effects go one can’t get high, but I don’t know. That’s just what a classmate said in Health class once.

Agreed with @ErenYeager. I would much rather students be smoking cannabis that was carefully grown, packaged, and synthesized rather than buying it randomly from strangers off the streets where it could be laced with crack, PCP, and other, harder drugs.

It might as well be legalized, because I feel like over half my school smokes it. And this is not me exaggerating. Maybe if it’s legal, there wouldn’t be as much “thrill” of doing it. But that’s just my two cents. (I have never and will never smoke marijuana or any kind of drug for that matter).

No, because you’ll still have to be 21+ to get away with possessing marijuana. It’ll work just like alcohol, and at least it’ll keep kids from doing dangerous things to get marijuana. Make cannabis safe, legal, and rare.

To be honest, I hate drugs But the drug war is not working, and the damage the underground drug trade market is doing to South America is pretty bad.

I say make it legal. As much as I hate to say it. Also, in states where it is legal, there are a lot more varieties that allow people to safely smoke without the bad side effects the general street pot brings.

People will do it regardless if its illegal or legal, in my opinion. I would have to go with illegal, there is no advantages to drugs at all in my stand (being biased because I HATE the smell of it).

People are going to hate me, but I think alcohol and drug possession should be punishable by life in prison, no exceptions. That’ll teach people. Make all the crap illegal and throw everyone who does it in jail to rot for life. Then we’ll have a society of smart thinkers who know not to make stupid decisions and ruin their lives and the lives of those around them.

That’s good in theory… But 85% of seniors say they have had alcohol before going into college… So you are talking almost the entire nation being in jail. This doesn’t even count the people who do drugs (most likely it will be the same people though)

Wish Texas would legalize. Too conservative though. Legalization is not such a bad thing, just watch. There’s a lot of truth behind things the posters in this thread have already said. I’ve definitely got high hopes for the future!
