Anyone else having the USC online app crash randomly? For me, all the pages load really slowly, which is bearable but the killer is the course listing page – It shoots my CPU usage up to 99%, takes about 2 minutes to scroll from top to bottom, words appear seconds after they are typed, etc. The worst part is that the one time I got a year’s grades filled in an submitted, the status bar kept creeping forward, after 5 minutes it sent the page, only to give me a stream of asp errors.
My friend also applying to USC confirms having the same problem. I’ve tried firefox, netscape and IE, all latest versions. Should I just give up and send it in on paper? Is it just the two of us that have this problem?

dont do the course listing, i called and they just told me to mail in the paper application form for the course and grades and leave it blank online and just submit the rest... they were not sure if they would have it fixed by the Dec 10 deadline for scholarships.

wtf...maybe i'm hallucinating but in the paper app's course list portion, why are the grade levels (9th, 10th...) in the boxes for grades (A, B, C) for the second semester. the example shown on the previous page does not have the problem. So where are we suppose to put the second semester grades!!!??? Is this only my copy or what....any else noticed?

The site is ridiculously slow. It's annoying. But hey, maybe they're trying to weed out the people who don't have enough dedication to do it. I'm going to tough it out, I'm almost done with the app, so it's not that big of a deal.

i called today at 1210...i had to wait 8 minutes for 16 callers ahead of me to finish...they just said do whatever you can on online..and just do paper for antying you cant

When you mail the paper part, I would recommend you pay the extra $ to get a return receipt. SC will find your paperwork when it gets lost, if you have proof they received it. Same problems last yr w/online.

wow you'd think they would be able to fix it if they had the same problems last year...they should just go to common app and have the supplement be the quick takes and short paragraphs, because everything else is basically the same

I'll try calling tomorrow (but i have school when the phone's not busy), but if anyone else can get through, here are some questions about having submitted what you can online and sending the rest on paper:

There are 2 addresses: university park and file, which should we mail to?

Is it okay to have filled out stuff in the courses (and with some areas blank) and submit the course list by paper(since i can't seem to view the page and what i already have filled out)

Since we'll have to mail the course listing via paper app, and do the rest online, will the website even let us submit the app without filling out the course listing? or should we just put random stuff for course listing online and expect them to read the paper one instead?
