Ughhh will my 3.8 and average TEsting grades be the deciding factor for rejection?

i have a 3.8 something bc my 8th grade grades are on my trascript and i had a C in one of the classes. aside from that i have like 2 B's freshman year and the rest are A's from there on. If i averaged all my grades unweighted though it would be around a 96. I took both the act and sat and scored a 32.25 on the ACT and a 2070 on the SAT 770M 640 CR and 660W. I got a 800 on Math II and a 720 on UShistory. My extra curriculars i would say are above average and different from others because i have put a lot of time into website development within the past year and am Founder of a Business club. My grades Junior year were pretty good though, 97.6 UW average.
Class rank: 13/179

I am also a Full IB diploma Candidate and am taking the hardest course load possible

Im just scared that they will look at my freshman and 8th grade grades and be like, "oo rejection, he doesnt have a 3.9+ or 2200+ on the SAT.

I applied to wharton ED and am the only one in my region, that i know of, that is applying ED.

So what do you guys think? GPA and SAT/ACT scores will lead to an automatic rejection or do i have any chance?

bump 10char

Nah they won’t see your 8th grade scores. They will see your freshman Bs but that shouldn’t matter. Your scores are a little on the low end–especially SAT. Class rank is good but you didn’t really say much about your ECs… Wharton is pretty competitive so I would say 40%?

yes they will see my 8th grade scores cause its on my HS transcript and factored into my HS GPA. but thanks for your input

Oh that sucks. Well I don’t think they will value them. You improved and that’s a plus. The only thing that’s holding you back are your SAT1 scores and the fact that wharton only accepts 500. but applying ed should help you. good luck!

thanks man, only one more day!

ah man I don’t think I’ll make it through tomorrow. let’s hope for the best for all of us!

^ See. He said “thanks man.” Unless it’s a girl.

i’m a guy lol

Referring to azntennisplaya

But was too lazy to type it out and resorted to ^ sign.

They’re grades from 8TH GRADE… Most colleges don’t even take freshman year grades with much consideration unless you got a straight of bad grades that year. So it doesn’t really matter that you got that B in 8th grade and it effects your GPA; Penn will probably understand.

And an ACT score of 32.25 is still essentially a 32 lol. You’re bugging out about a 32 when a 32 is part of Penn’s quartile range. Obviously, your GPA and standardized test scores are not the deciding factor for rejection.

Yes, they totally just threw away your application since you were less than a tenth away from a 3.9.
Of course not! Besides, we only have a little over a day before decisions come out. Good luck!

boy… i sure hope not. i have similar stats, applying to CAS
31 ACT, 2070 SAT… but i’m top 1%

ughh… i’m so gonna get rejected.
