Ugliest Campuses and Prettiest Campuses

Yes, we toured Stanford, & yes it IS lovely & sprawling. It's pretty tough to get in & tuition & expenses for attending is pretty high, unfortunately.

Pepperdine's is heaven. Berkeley has a damn decent view of the Bay.

Stanford Has The Best Campus Ever.

Chicago's campus FTW

lehigh has a beautiful campus... once you get past the mountain the campus is built on ;)

Maxiumus: "I have to take issue with an earlier statement made on the board that Northeastern "does not have an attractive campus". This person obvioulsy has not seen Northeastern's campus lately? There has been so much construction that it’s almost unrecognizable to most people who have not stepped foot on campus in the last five years. In my opinion, Northeastern now has one of the most attractive urban campuses in the country."

Looks ok in pictures, but that place is mostly gray. Not too much to like IMHO. I'm always there (go to school down the street).
From what I've seen...
Prettiest: BC, Dartmouth
Ugliest: UMass(can you say factory?), its not fair to judge BU because they just don't have a campus, just buildings randomly set on Comm Ave.
So-So: Wellesley(Am I the only one that doesn't think this campus is beautiful? Has too much dirt and not enough grass. However, the dorms are nice)

They are just ****ing buildings, my GOD what the hell are you thinking about, studying or DRACULA?

Agreed on NEU. The grass is out of place. You dont think the buildings at BU are nice? I loved the 'mini' campus at BU. Where do you go btw?

How the hell can grass be out of place????? A college campus is supposed to have grass. Geeeezzzzzz!!!!! I guess JPod prefers asphalt.

Best: Ohio University, Pepperdine, Miami Univ (Ohio), Virginia, Stanford, Denison, Wisconsin, Indiana, Duke

Worst: Ohio State University, Bowling Green, Cincinnati, Kenyon, Akron

Prettiest:Cornell, Notre Dame, and Northwestern.

BU's buildings are nice, but they don't have a campus. I do like BU beach though, it is the closest thing they have to a campus. I go to O'Bryant High School which happens to have a very close relationship with NEU, accepts our students regularly, and sends students here on internship, especially English and History majors.

Hampden-Sydney a great campus, truely great.

Recently visited Skidmore. Huge disappointment. Is it actually located in Amityville, NY? Well Saratoga Springs was impressively quaint.

Out of the colleges I have visited I would have to say Fordham Rose Hill had the best campus. It's amazing and has alot of history. It also has a very personal feel which is why I ended up choosing it over Northeastern. Northeastern's campus looked nice but it didn't seem to have much substance to it-- it was nice to look at but that was about it. NU definitely didn't have a personal, worn-in feeling-- it felt impersonal, sterile, and fake. I do understand the above grass comment; grass is, of course, a nice touch to a campus but it has to integrate smoothly with the rest of the campus. I do respect the progress NU has made, however and I believe that their financial aid is excellent.

The worst college I visited was probably the University Of Rhode Island-- very dull campus. Not much else to say here.

Most of the filming of "A Beautiful Mind" took place at Fordham Rose Hills, which was supposed to be Princeton in the film. Only a few of the actual scenes were filmed at Princeton.

yep, pretty impressive

Best: Yale, Harvard, Princeton, UPenn, University of Washington, University of Oregon
Worst: Columbia, Georgetown

Nash

"Most of the filming of 'A Beautiful Mind' took place at Fordham Rose Hills, which was supposed to be Princeton in the film. Only a few of the actual scenes were filmed at Princeton."

not true. virtually all of the "princeton" scenes were filmed AT princeton. one can easily recognize all the princeton buildings. fordham hills was used for other scenes, like pentagon interiors.

f. scottie, I think you are right. A friend of mine told me they filmed the outside scenes (where he pushes the desk out of the window) at Keating Hall on Fordham's campus--but in looking at the IMDB sites here: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0268978/locations
and at here:
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0268978/trivia

it appears that they only filmed inside scenes there. While I notice they filmed all over the place (as indicated in the first link above), apparently all the outside scenes--and the scenes in the library were filmed at Princeton.

My apologies for the error.

(I guess I should have recognized the difference between the two places and what was portrayed in the film, since I have actually been on both the Fordham and Princeton campuses).
