one of my main goals in this whole ap thing is to hopefully become a national AP scholar, or 8 or more tests of 4 or more. but today i took my ap chem test and oh my god, i really don't think i even passed. i didn't study very well because i've been very busy lately so i kinda knew i wasn't gonna do too well. however, i talked to my teacher afterwards and she told me that if anything happens i can still re-take it as a self study next year.

regarding ap awards, if i were to get a 4 next year on the test, would this completely erase this year's score and the new test take its place and count towards national scholar, or will it still count and say i took the test twice?

thanks for any help!

How did you get to take the AP Chemistry test early?!?!

yeah, AP Chem isn't until Wednesday?!?!?!

i'm leaving this weekend to go to a conference in florida and I won't be home for about 2 weeks so i asked college board for an early test. at first they refused but then my prinicipal wrote them an e-mail and everything and they eventually let me take it early. it was a pain in the a** tho...i wont be doing that again...

Wow, so uh . . how was it? care to tell any um . . FRs? :)

Actually I'm curious about your original question too. . so . . free bump

What's so great about the National AP Scholar distinction?

AP Diploma i think as been eliminated o.O

yes 1.) what's the big deal with AP awards? and 2.) any coughtipscough for the exam?

wow, nice... so the ap chem was difficult?! oh god. acid bases will be the death of me, i swear (and yeah. tips much XD!? i will love you forever)

i'm not sure about your original question, you could try asking collegeboard...

Check your PM please

ok so i've gotten a lot of messages about this and since i really don't have a lot of time i'll keep it kind of short.

1) frq's. a lot of you guys asked about this. WARNING: I am 90% sure that my test and your test will be different. I had a meeting with my counselor before the test because she told me not to tell anyone about the exams because college board has a back up for every test for early or late test takers. i'm pretty sure the questions will be completely different so i don't want to fail anyone. btw, my questions at least were easier than i expected and i'd say it was the best part of my exam

2) here's some good websites from where i studied from:

http://www.sciencegeek.net/APchemistry/APtaters/directory.shtml
http://chem.lapeer.org/chem2docs/index.html
http://www.thecatalyst.org/m16apchm.html

3) for prep books, i got a barron's but i only had time to read halfway thru it. but the first part was the best part on the test so yes i guess you could say it was helpful

4) here's some stuff that was on MY test:
-equations (go here: http://www.geocities.com/crazytwo2000/equations.html)
-quantitave treatments and equilibrium
-very important: acid bases (know them ALL), basics of thermodynamics (not too much detail tho), know your laws of kinetics and how everything reacts (easy questions for the most part)
-do the practice questions in the barron's. i thought they were ridiculously alike, and if i'm not mistaken, two of the questions were actually on the test

AGAIN: i am NOT the best source for this. i got selected to go to a law conference in florida and i had to prepare 2 written proses for it, my stance on about 30 different things and still finish a bunch of applications surrounding the whole things so i honestly studied for about 7 hrs for the entire thing! my chem courses ended the first semester. either way, if you study you'll certainly do much better than me.

PLEASE DON'T PM ME ANYMORE! just put your questions up here and i'll try my best to answer them. good luck!!

btw, i thought ap calc bc was way harder, at least the questions were.

Can you provide any more details re: the FRQs?

What type of equilibrium problem was the first frq? If its possible, can you say what each frq dealt with (topic)?
