Uh-Oh, Missed Interview Deadline?

Hi everyone,

My younger sister is applying to Bryn Mawr RD and she just realized now (12/20) that she missed the 12/15 interview request deadline. We only live about an hour away so location is not an excuse for missing an interview. She’s especially afraid that it’ll look like she lacks interest in the school as Bryn Mawr is one of her top choices, if not her top choice.

From Bryn Mawr’s website:

“Optional Application Components
First-year applicants have the option of submitting the following documentation to supplement their application:
All applicants are encouraged to interview with an Admissions Officer or an alumna”

On a separate page under “Interview Options,” the website says:

Interview Deadlines
Interviews must be completed by the application plan deadline to which you applied. Due to the volume of interview requests for Regular Decision, all interviews for that application plan must be requested by December 15 and completed by January 15.

On the College Board website, however, “Interviews” is listed only under “Considered” (rather than Important or Very Important) for BMC. She’s visited twice already, including one overnight so hopefully they understand that she is serious about the school.

TL;DR: Applicant missed BMC’s interview request deadline. Will this ruin her chances? Should she still reach out to Bryn Mawr Admissions and see if there’s anything she can do?

Thank you, all, in advance!!

Hi,
The best thing to do would be to email or call the admissions office. Here is a link to their contact info https://www.brynmawr.edu/admissions/contact-us

Hi I’m a current student and I work in admissions. Although interviews are a wonderful part of the application, they’re absolutely not required. Many applicants don’t interview or visit campus at all. Visiting campus is already showing interest!
