agbm- i got my housing yesterday and i got townhouse A apartment 2 so i guess we'll be living pretty close. it was the last thing i would have requested too but it actually does sound pretty cool

The townhouses are pretty cool. Its kinda like living in an apartment. Its a little different from being in the dorms. Your community room/buliding is pretty nice too. A large space. My dorm (Akwe:kon) has done a few programs in there.

"You just need to go on line at housing.cornell.edu to apply for housing. However, we have a very large class this year and everything is assigned. I am not sure if we will be able to accommodate you or not. Sandy"

Townhouses in the past have been all-freshman housing, but I heard of another transfer living in the townhouses this year (also A) so maybe they are switching things up. Couldn't hurt to call and double check though.

I'm transferring in this fall and received my housing assignment for Townhouse C, Apartment 7 this morning. It does sound like they were saving the townhouses for the transfers this year, since a number of us are being placed there, despite prioritizing our housing options otherwise.

For those who lived in townhouses: did you also subscribe to the meal plans? I see on the floor plans that kitchens are included, and I'm debating whether or not to prepare my own food to save some money.

umm yes you want a meal plan! do you think you'll have the time/patience to cook EVERY SINGLE MEAL? plus, you cant miss out on the delights of RPCC sunday brunch or mongos :)

edit: The co-op housing I have expires on the 18th, and I don't want to sleep in my car for those days in between. I'll also need to go back home and catch a bus over here.
