Hi,
I'm an EDer for the CAS. I have a pretty decent profile. Plenty of extra curriculars (including travelling to India to tutor children, working in African refugee ehabilitation, being in a band, starting a program for charity of Burmese refugee in collaboration with IKEA, and varsity swim teamamongst various other clubs, bilingual)and whatnot, and good grades in the top 5%.Even thought I'm an Indian, my school is highly underrepesented and we have only sent one person to UPenn in history i think. Also, my counsellor said hat my pg 217 was the best he has read in his career (I'm not trying to be pretentious, please dont misunderstand), and my teacher and counsellor recs should have been very very good because I have a very good relationship with the teachers I asked. There is nobody applying to UPenn cept me this year. The only thing that worries me however, is that my SATs are really baddddd. I have a 2110 (690M, 670CR, 750WR) and my SAT II's are 710M and 640LIT (I blanked out, I got nervous because it as my last chance for UPenn since I took them in November, however I am taking them again for Regular Decision in December.) Does this ruin my chances of getting in? My Dad says no, but sometimes I feel he may be trying to comfort me. UPenn is my absolute dream, and once I had a nightmare that I got rejected and I woke up and had fast beathing. I expressed my absolute love for the chool and my knowledge of everything about it (from tradition, to courses to even school superstitions I have heard from friends) in my Why UPenn essay.

This really won't matter. I know someone here (non-athlete, non-legacy, non-international, non-URM, non-development) who got in with ~1700. She was an amazing candidate otherwise, and I suppose they decided to overlook her scores. It was a wise move, she is really thriving here. This is obviously the exception to the rule, but basically, I hope it puts things into perspective. A 2100+ is fine. If you are not accepted, it is most likely not because of your scores.

thanks crashingwaves!

2110 is not really bad. It's not amazing, but it's also not really bad.

thanks phatalbert!
im a little more optimistic now, considering a while ago I thought I had NO CHANCE at ll, and was bracing myself for the rejection letter on december 15th
