I am a high school senior and am applying to UIC’s direct dental program this year. I have a 32 ACT score, 3.91 unweighted GPA, 4.38/4 weighted, and tons of extracurriculars. I founded my school’a medical club, am student council president, senior class VP, Key Club VP, DECA VP, a member of 4 honors society’s, have done over 300 hours of hospital volunteering (physical therapy program and gift shop), am a math tutor and instructor at Mathnasium, have received about 10 awards at math competitions, and have done 30 hours of dental shadowing. Chances of getting in??? Any recommendations about what major to choose??
So few people are accepted into the UIC GPPA dental. It is hard to say whether someone will be accepted. The choice of major doesn’t impact acceptance. GPPA acceptance and college acceptance are two separate things. You’ll be accepted into regular UIC and Honors College but GPPA is always hard to say.
I’ve been told that a lot of these programs like to see that you are well rounded and that it may give you an advantage or a unique edge if you apply as a non-science major like English or Communications. Is this true?
