Uic gppa?

So I'm still a junior in high school but I'm getting really nervous about college applications--I have no idea what to do. As of now, I would really like to go to school in Chicago (thinking UIC mostly). I've been doing research on UIC's GPPA program for dentistry and had a few questions...
I have a current GPA of around 4.29,
an ACT of 33 (I'm still scheduled for a few more),
one AP sophomore year, three AP's this year, and five AP's senior year,
was in band/pep for two years, orchestra for one,
currently in FBLA club and First Class
tennis for three years,
kind of lacking in community hours..

So, basically, there's nothing outstanding. I would love to go to UIC enrolled in the GPPA program but I don't think I'll make it. I'd like to give it a shot though. Questions: When do you apply for the program (do you apply along with normal freshman application?), what is honors college and how do you get into it, and is GPPA dentistry more competitive than med? I have looked on the UIC website and done some independent research, but I haven't really found any clear answers. Thank you!!

You can start applying from September since application for this year was available from Sep.

First of all, as you know there’s paper and online apps.
For Paper applicatoin
There’s a separate GPPA packet which includes both regular and GPPA app.
For online application
You fill out regular UIC application online and after like one day you can access GPPA application online. (They prefer that you fill out online application for faster process)

3.For Dentistry, honors college acceptance is required and GPPA application already includes essays and stuff for honors college already so you don’t have to worry about that.
Im sure GPPA Den requires two interviews just like med. so just keep that in mind.
Your stat seems good. If I were you I would also involve in medical interns. or related fields…

Also I would write those 3 essays in the app from summer after junior year. You can see the topics from 2011 application

I’m not sure about your last question.

good luck

GPPA Dent and GPPA Med are both extremely competitive programs to get into. GPPA Dent is smaller than the GPPA Med program since it has about 3-4 students per year that accept vs 15-20 students for GPPA Med. Neither one is considered more competitive. Having been a GPPA med student and worked with/ studied with several GPPA Dent people over the years, we’re all on the same playing field, but we each have different end goals.
