<p>hm... wow, now I feel bad cause my stat sucks..</p>

<p>Well anyway, any of you guys started writing essays?</p>

<p>For the Honors College essay, how long does it have to be..?</p>

<p>well my stat is this:</p>

<p>SAT = 2080 (probably higher now..)
ACT = 29 (probably higher)
SAT II = Math2 = 800 Bio = 750 Chem = Later (Do they even look at sat2's?)</p>

<p>GPA = 4.5</p>

<p>AP's taken/will = Bio, Calc BC, Physics, Chemistry, Psychology, Statistics</p>

<p>Volunteer: appprox 100 hours..
- Rehabilitation Center..</p>

<p>EC: Chess Team 4 years (1st place (board 4) in state tournament)
Math Team 4 years
Science Olympiad 2 years
Cum laude Society
Church... (i don't even know if this counts)
..Think I have a chance?.</p>

<p>hey. first time on this site, and i'm applying to uic gppa medical program. i don't know at all what it's like, so i guess i'll post my stats. does anyone have an idea of my chances? be nice, now :)</p>

gpa: 4.108 of 4.0
ap classes taken w/scores: chem (4), apush (5), microecon (5), macroecon (5)
ap's taking this year: calc bc, stats, english lit.</p>

-1st chair in youth orchestra (not school-related)
-news editor of my school newspaper

<p>Sorry... l0vevik is just not correct, and I say this from experience. The four campuses of the UIllinois medical school - Chicago, Urbana-Champaign, Rockford, and Peoria all are exceptional, and the professors are leading researchers in their field (especially at Chicago, since UIC is one of the nation's leading research institutions).</p>

<p>I'm still an undergraduate, but I've so far taken 4 classes with medical school faculty, and they have all been exceptional.</p>

<p>As for your stats, sk8n4eva, I'd say that you have the academic record and the involvement, but (of course) it all comes down to the essay and interviews at the Honors College and then at the Medical School.</p>

<p>Congratulations on your acceptance to the University of Illinois at Chicago. We have received your application to the Honors College and the Guaranteed Professional Program Admissions (GPPA). I am happy to invite you to visit our campus for an interview scheduled for Saturday, January 26, 2008. Registration will start at 8:30 a.m., and the program will begin at 9:00. In addition to the interview, you will write an impromptu essay, and receive a campus tour. While you are busy with your activities, your parents are invited to attend an informational program of their own. The day's events will conclude by early afternoon.</p>

<p>No no, I called this afternoon. This interview is for the honors college and "may be supplemental" to the GPPA. </p>

<p>They just started looking at the medical GPPAs (they got off break today), and the guy said around Feb 1st is when interview decisions are sent out, acceptances by phone, rejections by letter.</p>
