From UIC's site
"What percent of applicants were admitted to the GPPA last year?
Approximately 22% of the Fall 2008 GPPA applicants (13% for Medicine, 10% for Dentistry, 48% for Pharmacy) were admitted to the program."

It's pretty much the same... depends on how you look at/interpret it. I'm pretty sure more people apply for med. Based on the statistics above we all have a 22% chance of getting into any GPPA program. Out of that 22%... 13% go into med, 10% for dentistry, 48% for pharmacy. So the number of people accepted into each program should be more like

hey guys.
i'm a gppa dentistry student at uic and i dont know much advice i could give but i remeber how hard it was for me applyin to uic and then making the decision to go here so i thought i could give you guys some advice...
gppa dentistry definitely accepts a much less percent than gppa medicine. there were 4 people including me accepted last year and i think 4 students were accepted for gppa dent the year before me too.
umm lets see... i got a 34 on my ACT.
also, really think about why you want to apply for gppa whatever. they're looking for a real student with real interests, not just someone who defines themself with activities. don't stress out about your interviews. the best thing to do is try to reveal as much as yourself as you can to your interviewer so that he/she is really interested in you and is convinced that you'd be a good fit for uic.

quadmatic, is this your 2nd interview for the Honors College/GPPA program?
I had an interview on January 24th. I haven't heard back yet for a second one.

beanbug: Yeah, this is my 2nd interview. I interviewed for the honors college on the 24th last month

Don't worry if you haven't heard back. I'm sure they're still in the process of calling people. When she called to schedule, she only mentioned 3 days when interviews were available, all maybe 5 or 6 times a day at most.

Is there anyone who got into GPPA Dent of GPPA Med with a 33?...can you please also tell me your stats (i.e. clubs, activities, volunteer, summer camps)...Thanks!

SAT: 2250 (took it once)
ACT: 34
GPA: 4.52, unweighted 3.881, no class rank :(
AP: 2 5's, 2 4's
Lots of diverse ECs

I think the biggest point that the interviewer and other people I talked to that people got across was that they're interested in diverse people who want to explore and learn a lot of different things, and I think that's kind of one of the big things I got across in my personal statement.

I got a second interview last year and I found it to be very jarring. The interviewer was not nice to me and was even slightly demeaning towards some of my (what I thought were) accomplishments. Just be prepared for anything and to explain what qualifies you to make this decision at such an early age.
