UIC vs Loyola vs SLU

Looking for feedback to take a decision between UIC, Loyola, SLU for a pre-med track.

Some information:
– Resident of IL
– Accepted to all three colleges.
– UIC - Honors program (with 5k Scholarship)
– Loyola - Got Presidents scholarship ( awaiting decision for acceptance to Honors program)
– SLU - Got Vice-presidents scholarship ( awaiting decision for acceptance to Med Scholar program)
– UIC is the most cost effective , Loyola and SLU same cost after the awards.

Looking for feedback based on the quality of education to prep for MCAT, quality of campus life and $$ spend.

Congrats on the acceptances and scholarships!

All 3 are positioned well academically to prepare you for the MCAT and medical school, so you’ve noted already that UIC would be the most cost effective. That could be a large consideration since medical school is so expensive.

SLU probably has the most traditional campus feeling (with mainly residential students), followed by Loyola (majority residential students but a large commuter population) and UIC (more commuter students compared to residential students, although that has been changing over recent years). Definitely visit all 3 if you haven’t done so already since they are distinct atmospheres.

Thank you! Will definitely visit all three of them.

No advice between the three but a friend’s daughter is studying nursing at SLU and loves it. She earned the Vice-President’s scholarship (50% tuition) and was aware of the required min GPA (3.2) to maintain said scholarship but didn’t pay attention to the syllabus details for a course that docked a significant amount for each unexcused absence - her A tumbled to a C for missing 7 classes! And her semester GPA ended up at a 2.9. Hopefully second semester she brings her GPA back up above a 3.2. This is a lesson for any school!
