Yeah, that is probably best, ucbalumnus. Thank you.
“but I wonder if the education is a lot better than UIC for the extra cost that it is for me.”
I doubt it.
Same. I think UIC wins in all aspects here. Thanks a lot guys. Any other input is still appreciated.
You can only afford UIC, so your choices are really there, or cc, or taking a gap year and applying to a new list of colleges. I’d take UiC.
My parent’s have lived in the area for the past 20 + years. I love the location as you are so close to the loop. Walk, take a bus or hop on the el and your downtown in minutes. Take the walter taxi from Willis Tower to Navy Pier, catch a concert at Millenium Park, visit the Art Institute. You could take an uber with friends to see a Second City performance. I met my husband as a grad student there. We would end our group study sessions with dinner in Greektown or Little Italy.
Beside its location, UIC offers a strong engineering program. Visit the career center your first trimester to see what they offer. I’m sure plenty of Chicago area businesses will be recruiting.
If you think you will not be happy at UIC, have you considered transferring at the end of freshman year?
Congratulations and best of luck on your decision.
