Comment: I am happy I can get in. I know this is a great engineering school.
To people who got in, congrats, you guys are all amazing.
To people who didn’t get in, don’t be depressed, you still have chances and there are many other amazing places.

shivamchauhan: i don’t know if you are talking to me, cause the name is off but is the closest to mine than all others’ showed in this page. i will answer anyway.
Very likely. because engineering is what i want to do. and among all other schools i applied, all but mit is weaker than uiuc in engineering. Because it’s very unlikely that i will go mit, it’s very likely that i will end up in uiuc.

I got admitted into DGS.
I had a few questions in my mind.

Is it easier to get admitted into LAS or DGS ?

How tough is it to move from DGS to college of engineering (computer science)

Shubhamargie:
As for which is easier to get into, DGS or LAS, DGS is only for students in their freshman/sophomore years who either don’t know what major/school they wish to go to or who weren’t admitted right into the major/school they applied for. People who get denied for LAS may be admitted into DGS (as undeclared), therefore LAS is harder to get into.

General Comments:

Has anyone received an email yet for accepting their offer and all!!! =@ It’s been a few days now, and I still haven’t received an email! =S HELP! =/

It is not that easy to get into UIUC. If you have noticed, people who got accepted have quite high stats. UIUC is much more selective and competitive when compared with the majority of state flagships.

Also, most of the rejected applicants hesitate to post their stats as getting rejected is not something motivating.
