Hello, all.
I am going to be a sophomore transfer this fall at UIUC.
I was admitted as an econ major but I would like to study accounting at UIUC.
So, I was wondering, is it possible to transfer my major to Accounting major
even though I am a transfer student already?
Thanks!

Under current rules no. Business currently takes only two types of transfers: (a) those coming from another institution and being admitted as a transfer to UIUC into the business school; and (b) those students who are at UIUC and apply to transfer into sophomore year. In other words, sophomores and juniors who are at UIUC cannot apply to transfer into business. So you will be a sophomore in LAS in economics and thus won’t be allowed to apply for an intercollege transfer to business.

Like drusba said…you cannot be a part of the Business Department.
There are options…
- Apply for a Business Minor (if you like Business in general)
- Apply for Agri-Accounting Major (if you want to take more accounting courses)
- Apply for Actuarial Science (somewhat similar concept…in the LAS dept so you don’t have to transfer)
