Hey. I am a junior looking at Purdue, Michigan and UIUC for aerospace engineering. Can you please rate my chances?

GPA UW (Michigan style):3.93
SAT: 660 M 730 CR 640 W
ECs:National Honor Society, editor of the school paper, a church board, a youth advisory board, a lot of volunteering, a major part of levy/election campaigns, Engineering Club, political awareness club
Classes: AP US Gov, AP Calc BC, AP Physics C, AP Spanish, AP English, (AP Computer Science A or AP Euro, haven't decided), many honors classes
Summer Programs: Presidential Classroom, Purdue Seminar for Top Engineering Prospects
Other: never gotten below A+ in science, very competitive public school

Your SAT average is around middle 50%, and as for GPA, it really does not matter unless your school don't provide class rank. Your GPA seems very high though. I'd say you have a decent shot at the engineering college.

Ah, you might want to improve your SAT math score though (not that it is an implication of how well you will do in engineering, but I think engineering college focuses more on math score than verbal score)

UIUC is my dream school...but however my gpa isnt that great...3.4 or 3.5ish...but i have an act score of 30. what are my chances of getting into LAS if i also have taken several honors classes and is invovled with extracurriculars?

I got into UIUC Civil Engineering with a Math score of 730 and a 590 in CR. I was amongst the top 3 in my class though and had A Levels which is sort of like AP in the US. And roughly my gpa was 3.75. I think you do have a very good chance, eventhough I have no idea how I got in. I did have alot of extra curricular but Im not sure what really got me in. But academically, I think your good to go. Focus on the essays perhaps?
