UIUC Civil Engineering (Will Chance Back!!!)

Hello, I’m a Junior at Glenbrook North High School in Northbrook, Illinois (EXTREMELY competitive and difficult school… GPA is worth A LOT) and I want to apply to UIUC for Civil Engineering

Unweighted GPA: 3.61

Weighted GPA: 4.53

ACT: 34 (35, 35, 32, 34)

Class Rigor: ALL honors and AP classes

AP scores(so far): AP CALC BC – 5, AP Euro – 4, and AP Macro – 5

EC: Summer intership since Freshman year at a CIVIL ENGINEERING company, learned how to use CAD (Computer Aided Design), president/founder of Coffee and Tea Club, board member of MTAC (Marrow Transplant Awareness Campaign), 2nd place DECA State, in National Honors Society, and in National Society of High School Scholars

Awards: I am attending the Congress of Future Science and Technology Leaders in Harvard Square, Cambridge, Massachusetts and I am receiving my National Academy of Future Scietists and Technologists Award of Excellence this summer, I have a Physics acievement award, and an Athletic award for Volleyball.

I know my GPA is my weakness but I’m hoping my good ACT score, really good EC, IN-STATE application, and well known top-5 Illinois high school will compensate.
What are my chances? Thanks!!!

Illinois looks at your weighted and unweighted, so I don’t think gpa should be much of a problem. You have high test scores and great ECs/awards. Civil engineering is the least competitive engineering discipline at Illinois so I would say High match, you have a really good chance. Good luck!
