Chance Me?

@APboy… i dont think civil engineering is as competitive as the other engineering majors… however your SAT is quite low for the college of engineering. Despite this I think you are fine due to the high sat math score. Ur GPA is excellent. I would say u hav a good shot

@boka thank you!! I really hope I get in!!!

When will the decisions come out on the 2nd of February?

Is there a group chat for admitted students?

Daughter was accepted 12/16 into ACES/HDFS with 32 ACT, 4.33 GPA and excellent EC. Received $3K/yr ACES merit scholarship offer by postal mail this week. I didn’t realize how much less expensive base rate ACES tuition is compared to Engineering, basically $5k/year lower. That’s a big savings if you are considering a pre-health career that might entail $$$ for grad/med/professional school later.

Also, UIUC president has proposed another tuition freeze for 2018-2019. This will be voted upon later this week. Though still pretty expensive compared to in-state tuition at Iowa, Wisconsin, Purdue, Indiana or Minnesota, at least it has remained stable for a few years and Illinois residents are locked into the same rate for 4 years for both tuition and room/board…

Good luck to everyone hearing back from RD soon!

I got deferred from EA and now waiting on regular decision. I became the VP of one of the clubs at my school and also founded and was the president of my own club. Should I send them an email telling them about it and how I’m still interested or would that not matter/hurt me? Is it too late?

@FutureCSstudent I don’t think it would hurt at all! It would look pretty good to them, especially if you were lacking in Ecs before. However, I feel as if most of the decisions have already been made at this point. I’d still give it a shot, though!

@kuhlm44937 okay thank you so much!

How hard is chemical engineering program to get into compared to other engineering programs? gpa? sat?

man i rlly cant wait for fridat… UIUC is make or break… got deferred from computer engineering EA

@boka same. I got deferred from CS but UIUC is one of my top choices. Friday can’t come soon enough! What sucks, even more, is that results won’t be released for me till the morning on the next day because of the time zone difference ugh!

@FutureCSstudent what time does it come out??

@boka last year it was 4pm on Feb 4
