UIUC Class OF 2022 Admissions Thread

I applied for computer engineering not computer science @RSK2000 … I am from virginia… are you international or from the states? and what are your stats, is this a reach target or safety for u?

@boka I am an international student.
SAT - 1480
SAT Maths - 800
SAT Physics - 780
SAT Chemistry - 800
Cud manage only 2 AP’s - Calculus BC - 5, Physics - Mechanics - 4.
EC’s mainly in Robotics but not many.

Don’t know what my chances are. What are your scores. Can anyone chance me.

Missed out following-
10th - 96%
11th - 85%

wow those are great stats @RSK2000 … but I dont think UIUC looks at SAT subject tests (unless it is different for international students).
SAT : 1510 superscore (1470 and 1460) (790 Math 720 Reading)
GPA: weighted 3.96, upward trend in grades
took a LOT of AP’s I am in Multivariable Calculus/ AP physics/ AP computer science right now
have decent EC’s one tech internship, and one political internship

I dont think your chances are bad @RSK2000 … I have looked around and for some reason Computer engineering acceptance is significantly higher than computer science acceptance rate. Your subject tests are amazing… but I am pretty sure they are one of the few schools that do not take it into consideration

@boka Your SAT scores are good too. I know UIUC does not take into consideration our SAT subject scores, but then why not give them something extra to think about in this competitive world.
AP’s in India are conducted only once a year, i.e in May, so cud self prepare and appear for only 2.
As it is in India, the school internal marking is very strict compared to external 10th and 12th board exams. Preparation for SAT and SAT subjects also hampered a bit. Keeping my fingers crossed as I really want to get in UIUC as I have heard their Engineering programmes are one of the best in US. I don’t mind getting into either Computer or 2nd choice of Electrical engineering. Lets see. Wishing everyone All the Best.

With my scores posted earlier, can anyone chance me as to which universities are safe for me. Have also applied to Purdue and Georgia Tech.

@RSK2000 I applied to Purdue engineering as well… I think we both have a pretty good shot at it. Georgia Tech however is really competitive so it really just comes down to the application pool

applied regular decision for cs + crop sciences. anyone else?

Does anyone have any idea of how UIUC treats early graduates? I skipped senior year and graduated early (it was a weird scenario, I lived in California for a year and they have something called the CHSPE, you can google it) so I don’t have any senior year classes or grades, but I do have a high school diploma.
I have a pretty good GPA from my 3 years in high school (3.74 weighted), but it’s a weird situation.

@HaoweiS Hey I did FIRST robotics as a programmer as well!

AH so nervous for Friday! Applied for CS+Linguistics. Anyone else?
