Does anyone know if UIUC's professors will ever give an assignment or test a downward curve?

Sometimes when the class as a whole does really poorly on a test, a teacher may curve the test scores so that not everyone has failed the assignment. What I was curious about, was if teachers will do the inverse. If too many students did well on the test, will they consider only a certain number of students to get an A and then the rest are bumped down accordingly.

I also talked to an alumni of CS and Psychology who told me that they have never seen a down ward curve at UIUC. Any other input though is appreciated.

Never heard of any prof doing that. I knew a couple who would tell their students (jokingly) that they never curve but would definitely consider doing so if everyone scored 95 on the exam.
