Currently a junior at a top public high school in Illinois
GPA: 3.5 (unweighted) (class unranked)
ACT: 30
AP: Euro my sophomore year (4), currently taking APUSH, and AP Language and Composition, next year I will be taking AP Lit, AP Psych, AP Calc AB, AP Macro, AP Government, AP Spanish, and AP Bio
-I have been taking all honors classes since my freshman year so my weighted GPA is pretty high
EC:
– Soccer (grades 9-11), Swimming (grades 10-12), water polo (grades 9-12). I went to state for water polo my sophomore year and I was on the sectional swim team my junior year
– I work part time as a soccer referee and lifeguard
– NHS
– Eagle Scout</p>

<p>I am really hoping to study business (finance/economics/accounting) at UIUC but I have also looked at Wisconsin-Madison as a close second choice. Can someone chance me for those two schools and possibly give me some recommendations for other options? I would really appreciate it.</p>

<p>I think it’s a match for both. Your unweighted GPA is a little low, but your schedule was rigorous and your weighted GPA should be fine. Also, your EC’s are great and very diverse; it’s good that you have a mix of athletics, work experience, and academic achievements. Oh, and being Hispanic never hurts. I can’t really recommend other colleges because I don’t know what your looking for, but you can use the college search on this site or on the collegeboard site to find other potential colleges.</p>
