UIUC College of Engineering CS vs. Georgia Tech CS

These two are on the final shortlist. Are there folks on the same boat? And if you are chose one over the other, could you please share your thoughts?

Both are great schools for CS and we are struggling to make a decision.

There was another similar post but i’ll post again:

I was also admitted to GT and UIUC for computer science. For me, UIUC seemed better for 2 reasons: 1) GT’s 4-year graduation rate is quite low (40%) and especially to pay out-of-state tuition, that’s be really expensive. 2) Salary wise UIUC grads reportedly make about $92K starting off while GT was around $70k if I recall correctly

Both are great. GT is in Atlanta, so there might be more tech companies/startups to get involved. However, in my opinion (and some trustworthy stats), UIUC’s CS is somewhat better than GT’s CS, in terms of quality and reputation, especially when it comes to getting attention from big tech companies.

Thanks @UATenista and @PitLV2109‌.

@PitLV2109 If this is for grad school, without a doubt, I would choose UIUC CS. Could you please share the stats for undergrad education in CS where UIUC is better than GT? Thanks.

UofI CS is decidedly more represented in Silicon Valley than GTech CS.
