UIUC compared to MIT,Stanford,UCBerkeley,Caltech,Gatech,CMU, UofM, Purdue for EE

As the name of the thread suggests how would you rate these schools compared to UIUC for EE.
I know the current USNEWS rankings put UIUC at #3 for EE.
But i want to know your comparisons on factors apart from rankings..

Looking forward to your replies!!!!

Kindly add Cornell and UTexas- Austin to the list as well..

My opinion

You can't go wrong with any of those schools and you won't be any more superior graduating from one opposed to another. Go wherever you think you will feel most comfortable and enjoy the most.

Well the geography and size vary greatly with some of these schools. They are all great academically. The other factors will be up to personal preference.

Any of those schools would do a fine job of teaching you undergrad EE. I agree with the others who suggested to think about where you'd like to spend the next 4-5 years for reasons other than the curriculumn. Also consider cost depending on how it impacts you.

I disagree with Berkeley being ranked lower than UIUC (and I go to UIUC). Other than that the U.S. News ranking seems accurate.
