UIUC, double major or ga tech minor

does anybody know how hard it is to do double major at university of illinois at urbana chmapaign, i wanna double major in electrical engineering and computer science. i’m already admitted to EE. if not double major, what about minor in georgia tech?

wait....thats the most confusing questions ever...you want to either double major at illinois or minor at GT?? Try to explain yourself...

sorry, i was in a hurry.. yeah, basically, i want to know if anybody has done double major such as EE and computer sciencat at UIUC, or EE and a minor in COmputer science at ga tech.

bump!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You should direct your question to a dean of students or an advisor in the Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) department and the Computer Sciecne department at U of I.

There is no offcial barrier to double majoring in the UIUC engineering college. Also, those in CS take some EE and CE courses and vice versa and they all take the same basic first year and many of the second year courses. However, that does not mean it will be easy and likely next to impossible to do in four years because of the courses required -- it is very difficult just to get one engineering major there in four years and if you add the required courses for another major you will likely need at least an extra semester and possibly a year.

i heard that it is nearly impossible to double major in ga tech cause the workload. that was the main reason why i'm not seriously considering ga tech over uiuc. on the other hand, i don't know how hard is EE at uiuc, based on the students' reviews i read on a website, it seems that uiuc's students are a lot happier than ga tech.

There is a rule against double majoring in Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering because the curricula are too similar, but I'm not sure if there's a similar rule with EE and CS. If it's allowed, a double major of Computer Engineering and Computer Science would be the easiest because any CS classes count as technical electives for CompE.

is the engineering at GA tech that hard? I know some people who double majored at MIT and elsewhere. Okay, here's my question. How hard are the academics at Ga tech? everybody keeps on saying that it is hard. What do you mean?

yeah if u just go search "student review" in google, the first website has a lot of student review for both ga tech and UIUC. i visited ga tech since it's only 4 hrs away, and the rep told us that based on the workload everyone has in tech, it's nearly impossible to do double major. however, a few ppl do minor in tech. i'm visiting uiuc in the next 2 weeks, i hope it's not that hard to do double major at uiuc, otherwise, i'd go to ga tech. speaking of MIT, i have a lot of friends who're doing double major and even triple at MIT, i heard that they have different pathways, or programs for students that wanna do more than 1 major, basically if u r doign doulbe major, the courses won't be as deep as if you are doing one major alone. after all, we all know that MIT is the best for engineering :(

bumpppppppppp

Almost no one double majors at UIUC ECE either. I was one of 5 people out of 300 CompE majors doing a double major.
