UIUC - EA applicants Class of 2025

By 17% of the rate, not 17 percentage points. A 25% acceptance rate would drop to 20.8%, not 8%.

But that assumes a consistent yield, which I don’t think is necessarily true. Given that each student they accept has also applied to more schools than before, the yield rate is likely to drop. I suspect accept rates will be very similar in total. Of course, the heavy increase in applicants is mostly being seen at the top schools.

correct that is what I meant as well. 17 point drop will create a short squeeze… :slightly_smiling_face:

Just got an email from UIUC titled " Your admission decision will be available soon" Did anyone receive this?

Yes we got one around 6:35 pm EST

OK, they are making us more anxious

The process at UIUC is much better than that at UT Austin. Although I am not happy with their combining EA and RD decisions, they are at least very transparent so we know when to expect the results. This helps a lot.

has anyone applied sustainable design for their first choice major? have only heard about political science or cs majors so far

Son got into GT (CS) last month. Awaiting decision from UIUC (CS). Waiting on other schools as well. They don’t come out until 1st week of April.

Yep, the Ivies are the April ones Good luck to your son!

Thanks @srparent15. Good look to yours well. Take care…

Didn’t receive anything, is this a bad sign? :pensive:

I don’t think so, i got it 7 hours ago so maybe you can check your mail once and be sure to check the junk folder.

Congrats! If it were between just GT and UIUC, which one would he choose and why?

Anyone else an actuarial science major? Wishing I switched my second (accounting) to first choice. At least I’ll save $5k freshman year

I believe you can “appeal” your decision to apply for a different program if you want to do that.
