UIUC Engineering Chances

Hello CC forums! First I guess I should explain my situation. I came to my current school not really sure about what I wanted to major in. I was also unprepared to tackle college while also living alone so I had a very disappointing first semester and was put on academic probation. Then up until first semester sophomore I was just doing average work. Then second semester sophomore year I finally decided that I actually wanted to do something I enjoyed so I decided to switch to Pre-Engineering(Electrical Engineering.) From there all my school work was up hill. I retook the couple classes that I failed that first semester and started doing well in my classes. I brought my GPA from academic probation levels to above a 3.0. I have gotten B's in Calc and Physics and plan on doing the same for my remaining semesters. If I apply with a GPA of around a 3.2-3.3 with mostly B's and A's in Physics and Calc will UIUC consider me for EE? Will they ignore the fact that I didn't do well in the beginning of my career but have rebounded? I should also mention that I am on the board for two on campus clubs and have held three jobs(two back on on breaks and one on campus.)

Sorry if that was a little lengthy but I appreciate any feedback, good or bad. Thank you!

Bump? Please and thank you.

Bada bump. Any input would really be appreciated, just looking for a ballpark estimate.

Unfortuntely your GPA is too low, to be considered as a transfer to UIUC EE…sorry

I’m not sure what the gpa requirements are for engineering, but if you can give good reasons for the bad grades in the second essay on the application then you stand a good chance. Plus you also had some Ec’s and a job; i think you stand a good chance.
